The atmosphere of the club is quiet and relaxed and its facilities are available to members throughout the week. They can enjoy a drink and entertain guests in the traditionally furnished bar, or on a warm sunny day take an apéritif in the garden. Lunch is served in the windowed dining room, followed by coffee in the lounge which is also at their disposal to read the newspapers, or hold a business meeting. For members to entertain their guests in considerable style, several special annual events are organised by the club such as, The Derby Day Lunch and Beating the Retreat. The

Housed
in an elegant listed building, the St Stephen’s club has its own
sizeable, private garden overlooking St James’s Park and function
rooms which can accommodate from 20 to 250 guests. The windowed dining
room with views of the garden and park can offer receptions for up to
200 people and seat 100. The garden, approached from the dining room’s
French windows and descending a staircase, provides a spectacular
setting for wedding photographs and summer parties. Adjacent to the
dining room is a spacious bar furnished in traditional style and
available for all functions. Downstairs there are two adjoining suites
which 
can be
closed off for a private dinner for up to 24 guests or opened up for
cocktail parties or pre-dinner receptions, for up to 100 guests. Dance
floors can be fitted in these suites and it is a perfect space for a
disco.
